Children's Miracle Network began in 1983 as a national television special
to raise money for hospitals for children. Since then, in Canada, CMN has grown
to 12 member hospitals and foundations representing some of the finest pediatric
facilities in the world. |
Over the years, Children's Miracle Network has become much more than a television fundraiser, with hundreds of special events taking place throughout the year to benefit kids. Hospitals associated with Children's Miracle Network treat children with all types of afflictions and
injuries. In Canada, that amounts to over 2 million children per year.
The mission of Children's Miracle Network is to generate funds and awareness programs to benefit children served by the member hospitals and foundations. 100 percent of local donations remain in the community in which they were made to benefit the participating hospital or foundation.
Blockbuster first became a corporate partner in 2001 raising over $140,000 for CMN this initial year. Since then Blockbuster has raised more than $3 million to date, from programs such as, the Movie Icon Sales, Blockbuster Pumpkin Campaign promotion, Badges of Honour and Corporate Donations. Blockbuster will continue to strive to raise as much awareness for Children's Miracle Network as possible. In our efforts to help the children in need we will continue our in-store fundraising efforts and each year bring new and exciting programs to our stores with attempt to surpass our donations year over year.
